"With accommodation“ type of expedition is designed for kayakers who prefer to have a nice shower, tasty dinner and a good night's rest in a comfy bed after a long paddling day. It is suited for beginners, families and experienced paddlers, small or large groups, and provides a flexible paddling routine and difficulty.
Based on the groups input and interests, we adjust daily route and mileage. The trip is limited to Rab, and since the area is well known to our guides, the trip is very safe, interesting and easy-going. Numerous beaches and roads allow us to transfer you to various points on the island, thus avoiding unfavourable wind conditions or crowded beaches.
Our goal is to circumnavigate the island but also visit the neighbouring island of Sv. Grgur and fjord Zavratnica on the mainland. Western side of Rab Island is greener, with numerous beaches, rocky capes and sandy coves in between. Sandstones and sandy beaches are characteristic for north-eastern side of the island, while the eastern side is very barren, with fewer beaches but amazing cliffs and interesting geological sights.
Rab Island is a „paddling heaven“ - rich with forest and marine wildlife, long limestone cliffs, intimate sandy bays, clean emerald sea and beautiful pebbly beaches. But there are also ancient historical sites, ruins of political prisons from the socialist era, hidden caves, villages - and plenty of bars along the way, where we usually stop for drinks.
First day is reserved for transfer, meeting and getting accommodated. Organized transfer is on the last day.
After each breakfast we'll transfer to various starting points, load the kayaks with basic supplies and start exploring the coastline. If you don't feel like paddling, you can stay at home and we'll suggest a few activities for the day.
The finishing point (as well as starting point) is always different and we usually finish between 3:30 and 5:00 pm, leaving you enough time to prepare for dinner, which is around 7:00 pm. After dinner, guests can enjoy free time in the town centre.
