The closure of the island to foreigners (until 1989) was a precautionary measure, which involved restricting access to the island and strict controls to ensure military security and prevent espionage by foreign agents.
This isolation preserved its natural splendor, shielding it from urbanization and preserving its allure as a prime destination for sea kayaking and exploration of abandoned military sites.
In addition to the numerous military sites we'll explore, including the submarine tunnel where we'll paddle through, Vis Island boasts a stunning coastline adorned with towering cliffs and captivating geological formations. Nestled amidst this rugged beauty are hidden pebble beaches blending seamlessly into the azure waters, along with enchanting caves like the famed Blue Cave on Biševo Island.
The Blue Cave is a natural wonder, renowned for its ethereal blue light that illuminates the cavernous interior.
We'll also paddle into the Green Cave, where the emerald waters and echoing silence create an atmosphere of serenity and awe.
But Vis offers more than just natural marvels. Along our journey, we'll encounter picturesque villages nestled amidst olive tree plantations, fig groves, and other Mediterranean flora. These charming settlements exude an authentic charm, offering glimpses into traditional island life and culture.

The provided itinerary serves as a rough outline, meticulously crafted to showcase the highlights of our sea kayak adventure along Croatia's stunning coastline. However, it is important to note that our plans are flexible and may be subject to adjustments based on local weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances. This flexibility is one of the advantages of our accommodation-based tour, as it allows us to adapt to changes seamlessly. In the event of inclement weather, we can pivot to hiking and sightseeing activities, ensuring an enriching experience regardless of the conditions.
Our journey begins as we arrive on the enchanting island of Vis. Upon arrival, we facilitate your check-in process at the selected accommodation in Komiža, ensuring you feel settled and ready for the adventure ahead.
Next, our experienced guide hosts a comprehensive briefing session, outlining the details of our upcoming kayak expedition. From safety protocols to the planned itinerary, we ensure everyone is well-prepared for the journey.
With formalities concluded, take the opportunity to explore the captivating town of Komiža. Delve into its rich history as you stroll through narrow streets, adorned with ancient architecture and local charm.
We'll indulge in dinner at a local restaurant, relishing traditional dishes that epitomize the authentic flavors of the region. Regarding meals for the whole tour, you have the option to dine according to your preferences, or we can organize a group arrangement. Further details will be discussed during our journey to Vis.
The Split-Vis ferry operates at 09:00, 15:00, and 21:00, with a travel time of 2 hours and 20 minutes. Additionally, there is a catamaran service departing at 15:00, with a travel time of 1 hour and 25 minutes. However, please note that this timetable may vary depending on the season. For the most accurate schedule, please refer to the timetable provided HERE.
We suggest catching the 15:00 catamaran or ferry. Opting for the early ferry is also acceptable, allowing more time for exploration. However, the meeting time will be set to accommodate all participants.

Experience restful nights during our accommodation-based tour, where comfort and convenience are our priorities. We offer simple yet cozy rooms or apartments, subject to availability. We aim to accommodate the group in the same house whenever possible, ensuring a sense of unity and connection.
However, the arrangement depends on the availability of double and single beds. As a result, the group or individuals may be situated in different places. Rest assured, all accommodations are within short walking distance or proximity to our base, ensuring easy access to our activities and amenities.
At the heart of our accommodations is the commitment to provide you with a comfortable and convenient stay, allowing you to focus on the experiences and adventures that await during your time with us.
Our paddling typically starts around 09:30 am and the tour usually concludes between 3:30 - 5:00 pm
All kayaking participants are required to wear a life jacket at all times while paddling, without any exceptions.
If you're arriving by car to Vis Island, you have the option to park your vehicle safely for free at a nearby parking lot, subject to availability. However, depending on your accommodation, you may also have secured parking in front of the house. Alternatively, there is paid parking available priced from 7 to 10€ per day.
