Imagine paddling along Rab's western shores, where lush landscapes meet the sparkling Adriatic Sea. Hidden beaches tucked away among rocky outcrops and sandy bays are waiting to be discovered. As you head to the northeastern part of the island, the scene changes. Soft, sandy beaches shaded by pine trees provide the perfect place for picnics and relaxation. On Rab's eastern coast, the landscape becomes more dramatic, with towering cliffs rising from the sea and mysterious caves beckoning adventurers to explore. Covering approximately 80 kilometers, this family-friendly journey, designed in our renowned Relaxploration Style, will be both fun and educational, creating lasting memories for your family.
The provided itinerary serves as a rough outline, meticulously crafted to showcase the highlights of our sea kayak adventure along Rab stunning coastline. However, it is important to note that our plans are flexible and may be subject to adjustments based on local weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances. This flexibility ensures that we can adapt to changes in wind, waves, and other environmental factors, prioritizing the safety and enjoyment of our participants above all else. Rest assured, our experienced guides will always strive to provide the best possible experience, making necessary alterations to the itinerary as needed to ensure a memorable and rewarding journey for all. So while we have carefully planned each day's activities and destinations, be prepared for the possibility of exciting detours and spontaneous discoveries along the way.
>Our starting point will be determined by prevailing weather conditions. In the event of stronger eastern winds (Bura), we'll begin our paddle along the western side of the island. Conversely, if there are southern winds (Jugo), we'll navigate along the northeastern shore.<
As it often goes in the kayaking world, organizing and gathering fresh supplies for the tour takes some time. Properly packing our kayaks is crucial, as we'll be sharing food and water along the journey. After packing, our plan is to paddle towards the historic Town of Rab, passing beneath its 2000-year-old fortification walls, rich with history. Perhaps we'll take a coffee break en route to the Kalifront forest. Within this forest lies Dundovo, a part declared a natural rarity in 1949 due to its evergreen Crnika Tree (Helm Oak Tree). Along our journey, we'll have ample opportunity to stop at the emerald bays dotting the coastline before reaching the Island of Maman, where we'll set up camp and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast, we'll embark on a paddle to Draga to explore the Old Water Mill, a unique feature as it's the only one along the entire Croatian coastline located on an island. Continuing our journey, we'll head to Tunera, dating back to the 1760s when it was constructed for tuna fishing purposes. Following the northwest coast, we'll arrive at Cape Sorinj, where we'll relish in lunch and take a refreshing swim in the turquoise sea. Our adventure will then take us across the bay of Lopar to discover its sandy bays and beaches before we settle in for the night at our campsite.

Today we’ll paddle to the Island of St.Gregory and shortly paddle the coastline before we set off to the notorious Island of Goli Otok. Both of the Islands were political prisons but our guides will tell you some more about it. We’ll have a short visit to the prison remaining and a possible coffee break. After lunch and sightseeing, we’ll paddle back to Grgur Island and explore its NE side crowned by high cliffs. After reaching the main bay we’ll set up our tents and have dinner.

We'll bid farewell to Grgur Island and paddle back to Lopar (Rab), passing by its sandy beaches, completing a full circumnavigation of Grgur Island. After a well-deserved rest on one of the beaches and enjoying lunch, we'll set off for one of the island's most captivating destinations, renowned as the highlight of the Geo-Park.
Our first stop will be at the Medova Buža cave, where adventurers can jump from the hole in the ceiling and then dive out through a short underwater tunnel. Along the way, we'll also have the opportunity to explore two more caves before reaching our camping spot. As night falls, we'll dine under the stars with breathtaking views of the Velebit Mountain

As the sun rises over the Velebit Mountain, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee will awaken us. Following breakfast, we'll embark on the second half of our journey through the Geo-Park, savoring the beauty of the landscape as we paddle. Our route will include a stop at one of the caves before reaching the captivating moonscape Bay of Mag, where we'll indulge in a refreshing swim and a scenic hike. After a rejuvenating rest, we'll paddle towards our final destination, Pudarica Beach, marking the end of our kayak trip.
For those seeking an additional adventure, there's the option to paddle to Zavratnica Fiord on the mainland, located within the Nature Park Velebit (3 Nm one way). Here, you can snorkel over a shipwreck from World War II, and our journey will conclude at the ferry port Mišnjak

Children up to the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult and ride in a double kayak.
Since the minimum requirement to run the tour is four people, if only your family participates in the kayaking tour, please be informed that we charge the full price for children, equivalent to the price for adults.
Please be aware that we primarily use double kayaks, reserving single kayaks for uneven group numbers or experienced paddlers. Additionally, individuals not from the same group will not be paired in a double kayak unless specifically requested.

Our breakfast service typically begins at 7:30 AM, but this may vary depending on the day's schedule.
Lunch on the Shore
As you explore the coastline, take a break to savor our diverse lunch offerings. Indulge in a variety of salads bursting with vibrant flavors, delightful sandwiches crafted with care, and an abundance of fresh fruits to invigorate your senses. Enjoy a simple yet satisfying picnic on the beach, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
We aim to have lunch daily between 1 pm and 2 pm, taking into account weather conditions and any other factors that may arise during the expedition.
Dinner Under the Stars
As the sun sets on the horizon, gather around for a memorable dining experience. Our dinners are a celebration of culinary excellence, featuring carefully prepared dishes served alongside crisp salads. Pasta and rice take center stage, harmoniously blended with savory sauces, garden-fresh vegetables, and aromatic spices. Delight in the warmth of good company and the flavors of the Mediterranean.
We typically have dinner between 7 and 8 pm; however, this timing may vary depending on the month you are visiting, especially during shorter daylight months. In these instances, dinner is usually served between 5 and 6 pm.

This allows us to tailor our meal preparations accordingly, accommodating various dietary needs while ensuring safety, especially in cases of allergies. Our experienced guides are trained to handle dietary restrictions and will work closely with participants to ensure their dietary needs are met throughout the trip. By gathering this information in advance, we can provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Camping gear such as tents, sleeping bags, and mattresses are not included in the tour price but can be rented from us at the following rates. Prices are for the duration of the tour, not per day:

While we encourage you to bring your own inflatable mattress, we offer rental options depending on availability. Prices vary based on your preferred type.
Our paddling typically starts around 10 am on the first day, and the tour usually concludes around 4 pm on the last day.
All kayaking participants are required to wear a life jacket at all times while paddling, without any exceptions.
Efficient packing in the kayak is essential as we carry most supplies.
To streamline your packing, aim for minimal bulk and clothing. A 25-liter dry bag should be adequate for personal items from June to August, while an extra 20-liter dry bag should suffice for the remainder of the year.

When arranging accommodation independently, ensure proximity to our address at Banjol 341, with the town center just 15 minutes (1.2 km) away.
You may leave suitcases and backpacks at our base for free
If you're arriving by car to Rab Island, you have the option to park your vehicle safely for free at a nearby parking lot, subject to availability. Alternatively, there are paid parking available inside the campsite near our starting point, priced at around 10€ per day. Additionally, you can opt to leave your car at our neighbor's parking lot for a fee of 8€ per day.
