Tour Overview
Welcome to Rab, a premier destination for sea kayaking adventures in Croatia, offering a diverse coastline perfect for paddlers of all skill levels.
Picture your Family exploring the western side of Rab Island, where lush greenery meets the azure waters of the Adriatic. Hidden beaches tucked between rocky capes and sandy coves await your discovery, surrounded by evergreen Holm Oak forests.
On the northeastern side, soft sandy beaches are ideal for sunbathing under pine trees. Meanwhile, the eastern side features rugged cliffs and captivating caves, including one with an exciting jump-and-dive experience through an underwater tunnel. Explore the Geo Park Rab for an unforgettable adventure.
In addition to Rab, we'll circumnavigate the largest uninhabited island in the Adriatic: Prvić Island—a protected botanical and ornithological reserve.
We'll also venture to two more "notorious" islands, infamous for their dark history as political prisons until the end of the 1980s. Goli Otok, translated as the "Naked Island," lives up to its name with sparse vegetation, save for the pine trees planted by prisoners among the buildings and workshops. Meanwhile, its neighboring island, Grgur, is cloaked in evergreen holm oak forest, with one section serving as a political prison for females. Despite their troubled past, these islands boast stunning beauty, with emerald coastlines, towering cliffs, and bunkers perched atop their peaks.
To conclude our tour, we'll visit the quaint village of Jablanac and the nearby miniature fjord of Zavratnica, nestled in the Velebit Nature Park. Here, we'll delight in a refreshing swim beneath the towering canyon walls and explore the turquoise waters, snorkeling around the sunken boat from World War II.

As it often goes in the kayaking world, organizing and gathering fresh supplies for the tour takes some time. Properly packing our kayaks is crucial, as we'll be sharing food and water along the journey.
After packing, we plan to paddle towards the historic Town of Rab, passing beneath its 2000-year-old fortification walls, rich with history. Perhaps we'll take a coffee break en route to the Kalifront forest.
Within this forest lies Dundovo, a part declared a natural rarity in 1949 due to its evergreen Crnika Tree (Helm Oak Tree).
Along our journey, we'll have ample opportunity to stop at the emerald bays dotting the coastline before reaching the point of Kalifront where we will establish our camp.

Renowned for its prized sage flower honey, and valued for its distinct medicinal properties, Prvić boasts a dozen beaches along its western coast, complemented by towering cliffs and mesmerizing shades of blue in its emerald coves.

The lofty cliffs provide welcome shade, enhancing our paddling experience, particularly on warm summer days.
Upon reaching the island's northern tip, where the historic lighthouse, erected in 1875, stands firm against the fierce bura wind, a panoramic vista unfolds before us, revealing the vast expanse of the horizon. Following a refreshing swim along the emerald coastline, we'll navigate back to our campsite, already prepared for our arrival, where we'll relish dinner beneath the star-studded sky.

Next, our first stop will be at the Medova Buža cave, where adventurers can jump from the hole in the ceiling and then dive out through a short underwater tunnel. Along the way, we'll also have the opportunity to explore two more caves before reaching our camping spot.
As night falls, we'll dine under the stars with breathtaking views of the Velebit Mountain

Our journey unfolds amidst the captivating landscapes of the Geo-Park, where every turn reveals breathtaking vistas that beckon us forward. Pausing at one of the caves along our route, we're drawn into a moment of intrigue, marveling at the wonders hidden within the earth's embrace.
